a)ii.Thyroxin is secreted by the thyroid gland.

b)The timing and amount of hormone released are regulated by a feedback mechanism.

Example: If the sugar level in bloodrise, they are detected by the cells (Islets of Langerhans) of pancreaswhich respond by producing more insulin.
