the reaction is displacement reaction

it is called so bcoz the more reactive element displaces the less reactive one from its solution

The reaction that take s place between Zn and HCl is called Simple Displacement Reaction....

It is so called because Zn displaces the Cl from HCl and combines with it forming ZnCl2 and liberating H2 gas.....
