(b) i) Anopheles mosquito picks up the gametocytes along with the blood meal.

ii) Gametocytes reach the stomach of mosquito; fertilization occurs here.

iii) Zygote develops and produces sporozoites in the intestine.

iv) Sporozoites escape from the intestine and reach the salivary glands, where they remain stored.

(c) The rupture of RBCs is associated with the release of a toxic substance called haemozoin, which is responsible for the recurring chill and high fever.
