Here is procedure:

i )From 1 to 100 :

10 , 20 , 30 , 40 ,50 ,60 , 70 , 80 , 90 , 100

Number of zeroes = 11 -----------(1)

ii ) from 101 to 200:

101, 102 ,103 ,104, 105, 106 ,107, 108 ,109, 110

120 , 130 ,140 , 150 ,160 ,170 , 180 , 190 , 200

Number of zeroes = 20 ----------( 2 )

iii ) from 201 to 300

201 , 202 ,203 , 204 , 205 , 206 , 207 , 208 ,209 , 210,

220 , 230 , 240 , 250 , 260 , 270 , 280 , 290 , 300

Number of zeroes = 20--------- ( 3 )

i v ) similarly

Number of zeroes from 301 to 400 = 20------( 4 )

v ) Number of zeroes from 401 to 500 = 20 ----( 5 )

Therefore ,

Total zeroes required = ( 1 ) + ( 2) + ( 3 ) + ( 4 ) + ( 5 )

= 11 + 20 + 20 +20 + 20

= 91
