speed of light in new unit = 1 unit distance/s
speed of light in m/s = 3 X 10^8 m/s

dividing the equations we get :
1 unit distance = 3x 10^8m

distance between sun and earth =
speed of light X time
= 3x10^8 m/s X ((8x60) +20) sec
= (3 x 10^8 m) X 500
= 1 unit distance X 500
= 500 unit distance

Distance between the Sun and the Earth

= Speed of light × Time taken by light to cover the distance

Given that in the new unit, speed of light = 1 unit

Time taken, t = 8 min 20 s = 500 s

Distance between the Sun and the Earth = 1 × 500 = 500 units

I hope, this will help you
