Hii dear,

# Answer - 500 m.

# Explaination-
Total time required to cover distance = 8 min 20 sec = 500 sec.
Also given that light travels at a speed of unity i.e. 1 m/s.

Hence,
Distance covered = speed × time
Distance covered = 1 × 500
Distance covered = 500 m.

Hence, according to new system of units, distance between sun and earth is 500m.

Hope that helped you.

Distance between the Sun and the Earth

= Speed of light × Time taken by light to cover the distance

Given that in the new unit, speed of light = 1 unit

Time taken, t = 8 min 20 s = 500 s

Distance between the Sun and the Earth = 1 × 500 = 500 units

I hope, this will help you
