A noise map is a map of an area, which is coloured according to the noise levels in the area. Sometimes the noise levels may be shown by contour lines which show the boundaries between different noise levels in an area. Measuring noise levels and workers noise exposures is the most important part of a workplace hearing conservation and noise control program. It helps identify work locations where there are noise problems, employees who may be affected.
