Nimbin  is a triterpenoid .isolated from Neem. Nimbin is thought to be responsible for much of the biological activities of neem oil, and is reported to have anti-inflammatory , antipyretic , fungicidal, antihistamine and antiseptic properties
The liminoids found in neem leaves (Gedunin) is used in the tropics against malaria.

Nimbin is a chemical substance which is obtained from the plant of Neem. It is a triterpenoid. The chemical formula of Nimbin is C30H36O9 .

The uses of the alkaloid Nimbin are -

1. It plays the function same as Neem Oil.

2. It has antiseptic as well as antipyretic properties.

3. It also shows anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Nimbin is also used as fungicides.

5. It can also be used in the cases of allergies as nimbin possesses antihistamine properties.
