Let number B = X

a/c to question, number A exceeds B by 25% .

so, number A = X + 25% of X

= X + 25 × X/100

= 125X/100 = 1.25X

we have to find percentage of B decreased by A.

so, % decrease = (number A - number B)/number of A × 100

= (1.25X - X)/1.25X × 100

= 0.25X/1.25X × 100

= 20%

hence, B is 20% less than A.
