Hi ,

Let the number = x

Two thirds of the number = 2x/3

According to the problem given,

x + 2x/3 = 55

( 3x + 2x ) /3 = 55

5x / 3 = 55

x = ( 55 × 3 ) / 5

x = 11 × 3

x = 33

Therefore ,

Required number = x = 33

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

it will be x + 2/3 of x = 55

so,

x + 2/3 ×x =55

(3x + 2x )/3 = 55

by cross multiplication

(5x ) = 3 × 55

x = 165 / 5

x = 33
