and tens digit no. be x

so the no. formed = xy or 10x+y

x+y = 9  (given ) ...(1)

now it is stated that if we subtract 9 from the no. we get reversed no.

so according to statement ,

10x+y-9 = 10y+x

10x -x +y-10y = 9

9x- 9y= 9

x-y = 1   ...(2)

by adding equation (1) & (2)  we get ,

x+y = 9

+x-y = 1

2x = 9+1

x = 5  and by putting the value of x in eq 1 we get y = 4
