Let the ten's digit no. be x
original no.. :
x•3x
= 10(x)+1(3x)
= 10x +3x
= 13x — equation 1
duplicate no. :
3x•x
= 10(3x) + 1(x)
= 30x + x
= 31x — equation 2
13x + 36 = 31x
31x - 13x = 36
18x = 36
x = 36/18
x = 2
original no. :
x•3x = (2)•(2×3)
= 26
duplicate no. :
3x•x = (3×2)•(2)
= 62
therefore the original no. is 26 and when 36 is added to 26 we get the alternate value which is 62.
