Answer:

  • Required number is 63

Explanation:

Let, the unit digit of number be y

and its tens digit be x

then,

→ sum of digits = 9

→ x + y = 9

→ x = 9 - y   ____equation(1)

And, the original number would be

10 x + y

Now as given that, on subtracting 27 from the number its digits are reversed ; and on reversing the digits number will become 10 y + x

so,

→ 10 x + y - 27 = 10 y + x

→ 10 x - x + y - 10 y - 27 = 0

→ 9 x - 9 y = 27

dividing by 9 both sides

→ x - y = 3

using equation (1)

→ ( 9 - y ) - y = 3

→ 9 - y - y = 3

→ - 2 y = - 6

→ y = 6 / 2

y = 3

putting value of y in equation (1)

→ x = 9 - y

→ x = 9 - 3

x = 6

Therefore,

  • The number would be; 10 x + y = 10 ( 6 ) + ( 3 ) = 60 + 3 = 63.
