  • Whatever the largest number that 10 evenly divides into, 5 will divide into also, just twice as many times. So if 10 goes into a number 8 times, 5 will go into it 16 times. Therefore 5 will get to the same point with remainder 6. But wait. If the remainder is 6, then another 5 can go into it and leave remainder 1.

Hope it helps uh! ☺

Answer:

x≡7(mod10)

⟹x≡7(mod2×5)

⟹x≡7(mod2)∧x≡7(mod5)∵(2,5)are coprime.

x≡7(mod5)

⟹x≡2(mod5)

∴2 is the remainder when x is divided by 5
