a number first increased by 60%, then again decreases by 80% full stop find the percentage decrease on the whole​

Answer:

Let the number to = 100

Increase in the number= 60% of 100

= (60/100)×100= 60

Increased Number = 100 + 60= 160

The resulting number decreased by 80%

Decrease in the number= (80/100)×160))= 8×16 = 128

New number= 160-128 = 32

Now, net decrease =100-32 = 68

Net %Decrease = (net decrease/ Original number × 100) %

=[ ( 68 / 100 )×100 ] %

= 68%.

Hence, net percent decrease= 68%
