a number is 5/6th of the other number .if tge sum of these two number is 22 less than 99.what is the smallest number

let other no. be y,
so,x= 5/6 of y.....(1)
also
x+y=99-22=77.....(2)
solving equation (1) &(2);
5/6 y+ y=77
(5+6)y=77*6=462
y=462/11=42
therefore,x=(5/6)*42=5*7=35
