Answer:

SUPPOSE NUMBER IS X

3RD NUMBER = X/3

QUARTER = X/4

12TH NUMBER = X/12

THE NUMBER IS 56 GREATER THAN THE AVERAGE OF 3RD,4TH, AND 12TH

SET UP THE EQUATION

TOTAL OF X/3 +X/4 + X/12 = 8X/12

AVERAGE = 1/3 × 8X/12 = 8X=36

8X/36 = X— 56

8X = 36X — 36 × 56

8X — 36X = — 36× 56

28X = 36 × 56

X = 72
