SOLUTION -

Let the required number be ab.

$\text{Sum of digits = a + b ........ ( 1 )}$

$10 a + b = 4 ( a + b )$

$10 a + b + 18 = 10 b + a$

$\implies{9 a + 18 = 9 b}$

$\implies{a + 2 = b}$

$\implies{10 a + a + 2 = 4 ( a + a + 2 )}$

$\implies{11 a + 2 = 8 a + 8}$

$\implies{3 a = 6}$

$\implies{ a = 3}$

$\implies{ a + 2 = 5}$

$\implies{ab = 35......... [ A ]}$

So the number becomes 35.
