A number is devided into two parts , one being 4 times the other.the difference between the two parts is 15 .what is the number?

Let the two numbers be x and y

By conditions,

x=4y and

x-y=15

Substituting x=4y in x-y=15,

4y-y=15

3y=15

y=5

x=4*5

x=20

Therefore the number is 20+5=25
