Correct Question :

A number is divides into 2 parts such that 1 part is 10 more than the other. If the two parts are in the ratio 5:3, find the number and the two parts ?

Answer :

⟹ The number = 40

⟹ Two parts = 15 and 25

According to the question :

  • One part = 10 more than other { Given }

Let the number be ' x '

So, Two parts = 5 : 3 = 5x : 3x

According to the condition :

⇛5x = 3x + 10

⇛5x - 3x = 10

⇛2x = 10

⇛x = 10 / 2

⇛x = 5

Substituting values :

⇛5x = 5 × 5 = 25

⇛3x = 3 × 5 = 15

To find :

➥ 1 part = 25

⇛Other part = 15

➥ Number ⇛ 5x + 3x

⇛25 + 15

⇛40

Answer:

I think you typed 10 as 0

Step-by-step explanation:

the number divided into parts=2

1 part is more than =0

given ratio =5:3

let the first number be =5x

let the second number be=3x

accordhing to problem,

it is clearly given that the number is divided to 2 equal parts one part is more than 10

5x=3x+10

5x-3x=10

2x=10

x=10/2

x=5

first no is 5x=5×5

=25

3x=3×5

=15

now the total number is 25+15=40

hope it helps you
