when a number is divisible by x, it can always be divisible by the factors of x

Find the factors of 5:

5 = 1 x 5

Factors of 5 = 1 and 5

Find the factors of 12:

12 = 1 x 12

12 = 2 x 6

12 = 3 x 4

Factors of 12 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12

Answer: The number is also divisible by  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12
