A number is first increased by 20%and then decreased by 15%. Find the net increase or decrease percent.

Consider the number to be 100.
First increased by 20% that is 120.
20% of 100 is 20 hence 120.
(100/100)×20 = 20

Then decreased by 15% that is 15% of 120 = 102.
(120/100)×15 = 18
120-18=102

The net increase percent of the original value 100 is 2% (102).
