a number is such that it is as much greater than 45 as it is less than 75.find the numbers

Let the number be y

Let the number be x less than 75

That is ,75-x=y.......1

And let it be x more than 45

y=45+x.......2

From 1 and 2

75-x=45+x

x=15

Therefore,the number is 75-15 which is equal to 60 or you can add 45+15 . So you can do any one 75-15 or 45+15 the answer you get will be the same.
