Given :-

  • A number is twice another number
  • Their sum is 132

To Find :-

  • What are the numbers ?

Solution :-

Given :

  • A number is twice another

Let,

The numbers

  • x
  • 2x

And,

Their sum is 132

According to the question by substituting those values we get,

   \tt: \implies \:  \: x + 2x \:  = \:  132

   \tt: \implies \:  \: 3x \:  = \:  132

 \displaystyle   \tt: \implies \:  \: x \:  = \:    \cancel\frac{132}{3}

 \displaystyle   \tt: \implies \:  \: x \:  = \:    \frac{44}{1}

 \displaystyle   \bf: \implies \:   \red{ \: x \:  = \:    44}

Now,

 ⇢ \bf \: One  \: number  \: = \:  x

 ⇢\red{ \bf \: One  \: number  \: = \:  44}

 ⇢ \bf \: Other  \: number  \: = \:  2x

⇢ \bf \: Other  \: number  \: = \:  2(44)

⇢\red{ \bf \: Other  \: number  \: = \: 88}

Hence, The numbers are 44 and 88 .

A number is twice another number .If their sum is 132,what are the numbers?

GIVEN :-

  • 1st number = x
  • 2nd number = 2x
  • Sum of the numbers = 132

 \small \sf \blue{ \underline{ \red{question}}}

So, By the given data,

\sf\orange{x\:+\:2x\:=\:132}

➸ x + 2x = 132

➸ 3x = 132

➸ x = 132/2

➸ x = 44

So, \sf\purple{\underline{{2}^{nd}\:number\:=\:2(44)\:=\:88}}

\sf\mathfrak\purple{\underline{Final\:Answer:-}}

➻ 1st number = 44

➻ 2nd number = 88

Hope it helps uh
