total number of outcome= 16
favourable outcome= 8
probability of getting a number greater than 16 or 16 is 8/16= 1/2
so the answer is 1/2

The given answer 1/2 is for "xy is more than or EQUAL to 16".           For "xy MORE than 16", the answer will be 6/16 ie 3/8 since (16,1) and (4,4) are to be excluded.
