Calypso was a,nymph the daughter of the Titan Atlas. She was cursed that she would live on Ogygia forever and a hero would come there, she would love him, but the hero would not be able to stay there. She was cursed because her father, Atlas fought against the gods in the war between the gods and the Titans. She detained a Greek hero named Odysseus for 7 years on her island
