A p-n junction helps stabilize an electron hole pair

Answer:
Explanation:
p-n junction stabilizes electrons hole pairs "by separating them across the junction"
PN junction is formed by joining P type and N type semiconductors. In P type free holes are positively charged while in N type free electrons are negative charged. When a PN Junction is formed electrons from N type moves to P while holes near the junction move from P to N. This results in creation of region called as space charge region. In this region, electrons will be in P region and holes will be in N region. There is constant movement of some electrons from P to N in the space region and some holes move back from N to P in the space region till equilibrium is attained. The thin layer of the crystal lattice between these charges is created. This region has been depleted of majority carriers, thus, is known as the depletion region. It region becomes non-conductive intrinsic semi conductor material. In effect, we have nearly an insulator separating the conductive P and N doped regions. Via this p-n junction stabilizes electrons hole pairs.
