Given:-

  • a packet of sweets was distributed among 20 children.
  • Each child received four sweets

To find :-

  • Number of sweets when number of children is reduced by 4.

Solution :-

From the question,

Number of children = 20

Number of sweets each child received = 4

Now, we will find the total number of sweets i.e the number of sweets that were in the packet before distribution.

Total number of sweets = No. of children × Number of sweets each child got

Total number of sweets = 20 × 4

° Total number of sweets = 80 sweets

The number of sweets that were in the packet = 80 sweets.

Now, it's stated that, number of children is reduced by 4

•°• No. of children after reduction = Total number of children - 4

No of children after reduction = 20 - 4

•°• No. of children after reduction = 16 children.

Now to find the number of sweets that each child will get after reduction.

Number of sweets = 80

Number of children = 16

No. of sweets for each child = \bf\large\frac{No.\:of\:sweets}{Number\:of\:children}

No. of sweets = \bf\large\frac{80}{16}

No. of sweets for each child = 5 sweets

•°• Each child will get 5 sweets if the number of children is reduced by 4.
