The time taken by the painter is 3 hours.

Given data :

Material cost = $225

Labour cost = $35/hour

Total cost = $330

So,

The total labour cost = (330-225) = $105

Now,

$35 is required for = 1 hour

$1 is required for = 1/35 hour

$105 is required for = 105/35 = 3 hours (answer)
