Given :-

Wall painted for 8 hours :- 42 cm²

To Find :-

Wall to be painted in 24 hours...............

Solution :-

First, we should find the part of wall painted in 1 hour by dividing the wall painted in 8 hours and 8.............

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{42}{8}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{42}{8}  =  \boxed{ \tt 5.25}}

Now,

Wall painted in 24 hours :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 5.25 \times 24}

\tt \longrightarrow 126  \:  \sf{cm}^{ \tt 2}

\Huge\thereforeThe wall painted in 24 hours is 126 cm².

More to know..……………

  • While solving these type of problems, like in the question there will be part painted in some of the hours and we should find for more of the hours, in this situation first we should find the value for one item and then multiply by the given items.
  • Another method of solving is that we should divide the given values i.e, amount taken and part of wall and then multiply by the given item.
