Solution:-
Area of the rectangle ABCD = L × B
= 18 × 14
Area of rectangle ABCD = 252 sq cm.
Diameter of semicircular portion = 14 cm
So, radius = 7 cm
Area of the semi-circular portion =1/2πr²
= 1/2*22/7*7*7
= 1078/14
Area of the semi-circular portion = 77 sq cm
Area of the remaining portion = Area of rectangle ABCD - Area of semi-circular portion
= 252 - 77
= 175 sq cm

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius = 12/2 .....=6cm

Area of semicircle = 1/2 πr^2

= 1/2( 22/7 x 6 x 6 )

= 396/7 cm^2

Area of rectangle = l x b

= 16 x 12

= 192 cm^2

Area of remaining portion= 196-396/7

= 196x7/1x7 - 396/7

( taking LCM)

= 938/7 cm^2

= 134 cm^2
