Tree plantation means planting trees and plants. The purpose of tree plantation is save the endangered environment and to beautify our life. Trees are valuable gifts of nature. They are known as the best friends of human beings. They benefit us in various ways. The lives of men and other animals and insects are inconceivable without the existence of trees in the world.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give us oxygen without which no living being can live. Trees give us shade, medicine, food, fruits, furniture, fuel etc. Trees also keep the weather cool and cause rainfall. They also bind soil and thus prevent erosion.
Tree Plantation Drive Organized at Green
Woods School
Keeping the spirit of World Environment Day alive with the ongoing tree plantation drive all across the country, a tree plantation programme was held at Green Woods Global School last week. The students and teachers planted 5000 trees in and surrounding areas of the school. All the important members of the management committee of the school also contributed to the tree plantation drive.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, The Mayor appealed to the residents to ensure the sapling's healthy nurturing. He appealed to them to adopt the saplings planted near their homes for the 100% survival and healthy growth of each sapling into full-fledged trees for creating purer environment in the society. The Mayor appreciated the Principal, Mr. Tarsem Singh's initiative to make the school’s surroundings green.
