Which statement is correct regarding the measurements of the parallelogram?

A. The base is 6 and the height is 3, so the area is 6 (3) = 18 square units.

B. The base is 8 and the height is 3, so the area is 8 (3) = 24 square units.

C. The base is 8 and the height is 4, so the area is 8 (4) = 32 square units.

D. The base is 8 and the height is 6, so the area is 8 (6) = 48 square units.

Base of the parallelogram = 56 units

Given:

Area of a parallelogram = 7 square units

And height that corresponding to the base = 1/4 units

To find:

Base of the parallelogram

Solution:

Given area of the parallelogram = 7 square units

As we know the formula for area of a parallelogram is given by

Area of parallelogram = 1/2 (base) (height)

From given data area of parallelogram = 7 square units

⇒ 1/2 (base) (height) = 7

⇒ base (height) = 14

From given data given height = 1/4 unts

⇒  base(1/4) = 14

⇒ base = 14 × 4

⇒ base = 56 units

Base of the parallelogram = 56 units
