Hi ,

Let a and b are two adjacent sides,

h , H are their corresponding heights

of the parallelogram .

a = 15 cm , h = 6 cm

b = 12 cm , H = ?

Therefore ,

bH = ah

12 × H = 15 × 6

H = ( 15 × 6 ) /12

H = 7.5 cm

I hope this helps you.

( SIMILIAR QUESTION IS ALSO A PART OF EXAMPLES IN TEXTBOOK BY SELINA  )                                                                                                                  Assume a parallelogram ABCD ..

so given : ab = 12 cm and bc - 15cm

if base=12cm and height given = 6cm

then,

area of trapezium = base* height

                               = 15*6= 90 cm²

now if area = 90 cm ² side i,e, base = 12cm

so area of trapezium again = base× height

90=12× height

height = 90÷12

= 7.5 cm ( ans .)
