Given :-

A park is in the form of a right triangle with hypotenuse 75m. If one of its sides is 60m, find the cost of levelling it at the rate Rs.3 per sq.m

To Find :-

  • the cost of levelling at the rate Rs.3 per sq.m

Solution :-

  • Hypotenuse :- 75 m
  • One of its side :- 60 m

So, the other side will be - ( use Pythagoras theorem )

  • Let the other side be x

→ ( x )² = ( 75 )² - ( 60 )²

→ ( x )² = 5625 - 3600

→ ( x )² = 2025

→ x = √2025

→ x = 45

Here, we can see the other side is 45m

Now, find the area of the land

Area = 1/2 × base × height

→ 1/2 × 60m × 45 m

→ ( 30 × 45 ) m

→ 135 m²

The cost of levelling is ₹ 3 / m²

So, the total cost = 135 × 3 = ₹ 405

Thank You!
