Answer:

The perimeter of the outer edge of the road is 600 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the side of the square park be x

We are given that A park, square in shape has a 3 metre wide road inside it

So, Inner length = x-(3+3)=x-6

Inner area = Side^2 = (x-6)^2

Outer area = x^2

Area of road = Outer area - inner area

                   = x^2-(x-6)^2

Since we are given that The area occupied by the road is 1764 square meter.

So,  x^2-(x-6)^2=1764

x^2-x^2-36+12x=1764

-36+12x=1764

x=150

Outer edge = 150 m

So Perimeter of outer edge of road = 4 \times Side = 4 \times 150 = 600 m

Hence the perimeter of the outer edge of the road is 600 m
