a part 1 m wide is built along the border and inside a Square Garden of side 30 M find:
1. The area of the path
2. . The cost of planting grass in the remaining portion of the garden at the rate rupees 40 per metre square

as shown in diagram

1. the area of path = area of whole region - area of garden region

area of whole region = side * side = 30 * 30 = 900 m^2

area of garden region = 28 * 28 = 784 m^2

area of path = 900 -784 = 116 m^2

2. area of garden = 28*28 = 784 m^2

1 m^2 area planting cost = 40 rs

784 m^2 planting will cost = 784 * 40 = 31360 rs
