a part of monthly hostel charges fixed and remaining depend on the number of days one has taken food in the mess. when a student a takes food for 20 days she has to pay rupees housand as hostel charge whereas a student b who takes food for 26 days rupees 1180 as hostel charge. find fixed charged and the cost of food perday.

x + 26y = 1180 --(2)

solving 1 & 2
6y = 180
:. y = 30 {Answer}

substituting the value of y in (1)
so x + 20y = 1000
x + 20* 30 = 1000
so x = 1000- 600 = 400 {Answer}
