Answer:

Cost of food per day = Rs. 140

Fixed charges per month = Rs. 1000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

Number of days food taken By A = 25

Payment by A = rs. 4500

Number of days food taken by B = 30

Payment by B = rs. 5200

Fixed charges are paid by both the students. Thus the extra amount paid by studen B is for the extra number of days he ate the food.

Thus extra number of days, food taken by B = 30 -25 = 5days

and

Extra payment done by B = Rs. 5200 - Rs. 4500 = Rs. 700

Thus cost of food per day = (Extra Payment done by B) / (Extra no. days food taken by B)

∴ Cost of food per day = 700 / 5

∴ Cost of food per day  = Rs. 140   ..... (1)

Calculating fixed charges,

For student A,

Payment by A = Fixed charges (F) + Number of days * Cost of food per day

∴ 4500 = (F) + 25 x 140

∴ (F) = 4500 - 3500

∴ (F) = 1000

∴ Fixed charges = Rs. 1000
