let the total distance travelled be d. time taken to travel d/3 with speed v1= distance travelled /speed =d/3v1 . Similarly, time taken to travel d/3 with speed v2 and time taken to travel d/3 with speed v3 =d/3v2 and d/3v3 .So average speed of the particle = total distance travelled/time taken=
