Let the total distance d

Speed = distance / time

d for first distance and second distance is d/2

First speed = d / 2 t1

Second speed = d / 2 t2

Now average among the two is:

d / 2  t1 + d / 2t 2

Taking d / 2 as common

==> d / 2 ( 1 / t1 + 1 / t2)

==> d (t1 + t2) / 2 t1 t2

This is the answer

Hope it helps you
