A particle is located on the positive side of the Y-axis at a point A whose distance from the origin is
equal to 2 m. First it moves along positive Y-axis to a point B whose distance from the origin is 6 m,
then it moves along the negative Y-axis to a point C which lies in the negative side of the Y-axis. The
point C is 20 m away from the origin. Find the magnitude of displacement and distance of the
particle from above information.

Answer:

0→ Starting point /origin

(1) Distance travelled by the point=20+20+20=60m

(2) Displacement is onlyOB+20m in the negative direction

Displacement → Distance between final and initial position

(60m,20m)
