For t = 0 to t = 1
v = u + at
v = -2 + (0.5 × 1 × 5) ……[∵ at = Area under line from t = 0 to 1]
v = 0.5 m/s
Velocity at the end of 1 second is 0.5 m/s

For t = 1 to 3 s
Acceleration is constant i.e 5 m/s^2
v = u + at
v = 0.5 + (5 × 2)
v = 10.5 m/s
Velocity at the end of 3s is 10.5 m/s

For t = 3 to 3.5 s
v = u + at
v = 10.5 + (0.5 × 0.5 × 5)
v = 11.75 m/s
Velocity at the end of 3.5 s is 11.75 m/s

For t = 3.5 to 4 s
v = u + at
v = 11.75 + (0.5 × 0.5 × -5)
v = 10.5 m/s

Velocity at the end of 4 s is 10.5 m/s

Answe

For t = 0 to t = 1

v = u + at

v = -2 + (0.5 × 1 × 5) ……[∵ at = Area under line from t = 0 to 1]

v = 0.5 m/s

Velocity at the end of 1 second is 0.5 m/s

For t = 1 to 3 s

Acceleration is constant i.e 5 m/s^2

v = u + at

v = 0.5 + (5 × 2)

v = 10.5 m/s

Velocity at the end of 3s is 10.5 m/s

For t = 3 to 3.5 s

v = u + at

v = 10.5 + (0.5 × 0.5 × 5)

v = 11.75 m/s

Velocity at the end of 3.5 s is 11.75 m/s

For t = 3.5 to 4 s

v = u + at

v = 11.75 + (0.5 × 0.5 × -5)

v = 10.5 m/s

Velocity at the end of 4 s is 10.5 m/s
