A particle is moving along a circle such that it completes one revolution in 40 seconds. in 2 minutes 20 seconds the ratio of displacement to distance is?

2 min 20 s = 120 s + 20 s = 140 s
140 s / 40 s = 3.5

So, in 2 min 20 s particle covered 3.5 revolutions.

Distance = 3.5 × (2 π r)
= 3.5 × 2 × 22/7 × r
= 22r

After 3 revolutions displacement is zero.
After 0.5 revolution particle is diametrically opposite point

Displacement = 0.5 × 2 π r
= 22r/7

Ratio
Displacement : Distance = 22r/7 : 22r = 1/7 : 1 = 1 : 7
