A particle is moving along a straight line along x-axis with an initial velocity of 2 m/s towards positive

x-axis. A constant acceleration of 0.5 m/s2

towards negative x-axis starts acting on particle at t = 0. Find

velocity (in m/s) of particle at t = 2s.

Answer:

Given initial velocity (u) =2m/s

acceleration(a) =.5m/s² in -ve x-axis at t=0

let velocity of particle at (t =2s ) =V

V=u+at

V=2+(-0.5) *2

v=2-1

v=1m/s
