A particle is moving freely. Then the Kinetic energy is always greater than zero.

  • Kinetic energy is the energy present due to the motion of the object.
  • Kinetic energy = 1/2 X m X v²

Here, m = mass of the object and v = the velocity of the object.

  • Since the mass of an object and the square of the velocity are always positive, a moving object can never have kinetic energy less than zero.
  • For a body at rest, v² = 0. Hence KE = 0J
