first if velocity is directed upwards. then initial velocity vector is v i + 0 j. as it makes a angle of 60 degrees then velocity vector is v(cos60) i + v(sin60) j. change in velocity is (v/2 i + √3/2v j )- v i=-v/2 i + √3/2v j .
