the distance of the object (u)=-20
the distance of the image (v)=2.5
since
magnification=v/u=-20/2.5=-200/25=-8
=size of the image/size of the object=-8/1
hence
the size of the image=-8*2=-16cm
this -ve sign is due to the image formation below the principal axis. as the image is real.
hence the length is only 16cm(neglecting -ve sign)
