A particle is performing U. C. M. along a circle of radius r . in half period of revolution . what is its displacement and corresponding distance

Corresponding distance = 1/2*2pie*r =1/2*22/7*r = 22/7r
Displacement = 2r

◆ Answer-
Distance = πr
Displacement = 2r

◆ Explaination-
In half period of revolution, the particle will travel half the circle.


At this point, distance & displacement is given by -

a) Distance -
Distance traveled is half the circumference of the circle.
x = 2πr / 2
x = πr

b) Displacement -
Displacement is equal to diameter of the circle.
s = d
s = 2r
