Answer:

13 m/s

Explanation:

A particle is projected vertically upwards from the top of a tower and strikes the ground in 5 seconds. The average velocity during its motion is 5 metre per second. Find the average speed of the particle .(Take g is equal to 10 metre per second square )

Average Velocity = 5 m/s

Time = 5 sec

=> Height of Tower = 5 * 5 = 25 m

Using S = ut + (1/2)at²

-25 = V(5) + (1/2)(-10)5²

=> 5V = 100

=> V = 20 m/s

Distance till max height from tower top

0² - 20² = 2(-10)S

=> S = 20

Same Distance to come back till top of Tower

So total Distance Covered = 20 + 20 + 25 = 65 m

Average Speed = 65/5 =  13 m/s
